Platform Overview & Submit Your Module

The Global BioImaging Training Platform is a resource that provides educational and informative content for anyone interested in imaging and microscopy, facility management, image data management, analysis, and more.

The modules are curated to offer comprehensive information on the topic at hand. The platform is freely available and designed for imaging core facility professionals and imaging scientists.

This platform is community-driven, meaning anyone in the community can contribute by submitting curated modules or updating existing ones. The existing modules cover a wide range of topics, from imaging technologies and instrument operation to image data analysis, image data management, and core facility management and operation.

Each module contains the following information:

1. General information about a module:
   • Module title
   • Module description
   • Target audience: User, Staff, or User & Staff
   • Difficulty level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced
   • Estimated completion time (total runtime of all videos in the module)
2. Main contents of a module
   • The main content may consist of three types of resources: videos, PDFs, and external links (web URLs)

There are three types of resources that can be used to create a module:

• Video (an external link to a video hosted on an online video-sharing platform)
• PDF (either a submitted PDF or a link to a PDF)
• External Link (web URL)

All materials included in a module must be publicly available.

Curation is the process of carefully selecting, organizing, and presenting content and resources to enhance the end user's understanding.

Curation is mandatory for each module.

Curation is achieved by providing detailed descriptions of resources and including additional information that may be helpful to the end user.

Examples of curation include:

• Providing a catalog of topics discussed in a video
• Listing prerequisite reading materials
• Suggesting further reading materials
• Including URLs of external resources that complement the module
• Including URLs of external courses that complement the module

Acknowledgment is achieved by:

• Individually recognizing presenters by providing their full name and affiliation
• Acknowledging the material displayed in the module under the Source Material section
• Recognizing the contributors of a module in the Module Contributors section
