International Job Shadowing

Global BioImaging offers an international job shadowing program that provides technical and managerial staff of imaging core facilities with the opportunity to experience life in a peer imaging facility abroad and learn from their peers.

Job shadowing is an 'on-the-job' learning and professional development opportunity. The job shadowing program is open to the staff of imaging core facilities and to those who wish to pursue a career in imaging core facilities.

Job shadowing involves visiting another imaging facility where the staff may have more experience, operate different imaging technologies, or have implemented procedures not found in the home facility. This experience helps job shadowing visitors learn new aspects related to facility management, bioimage analysis, image data storage, quality management, software tools, user access, and more.

The program allows both the hosting facility and their visitors to exchange experiences and ideas. Additionally, it supports networking and prepares for possible future collaborations between imaging facilities and infrastructures.

General guidelines for the job shadowing program can be viewed in the document on the right-hand side. The guidelines describe the main features of the program and provide practical information on the procedures to be followed by both the hosting facilities and the job shadowing visitor.

International job shadowing program - Open call for 2024 (CLOSED)

Applications are invited from imaging core facility directors, managers, and staff members, as well as those working in laboratories that provide imaging or microscopy as a service, who are interested in participating in an international job shadowing program.

The details of an open call, including prerequisites for applying and the application form, can be found on this webpage.
