The Global BioImaging network and Japan's ABiS (Advanced BioImaging Support) have co-organized for the first time an international training course for BioImage Analysis, in OIST, Okinawa, between October 30th and November 4th, 2018. The course focused on computational methods for analysing cellular images and extracting quantitative data from them. Its aim was to familiarise the participants with computational image analysis methodologies, and to provide hands-on training in running quantitative analysis pipelines. The training was a great success and saw the participation of over 20 participants from Europe and Japan. It was the first of its kind and more will be organised by the Global BioImaging network.
